We were lost big time... The map that John drew out said to turn right on Divide - but he drew the road off to the left - so we gambled with left and checked out all the trails - none of which lead to camp sites. So, we got back to the main road and took a right on Divide. |
|
Luckily though, we saw his grandpa driving around on Butternut road - so he showed us the way in. The roads in were pretty cool - not meant for my Saab at the speeds we were going - so was glad we took the truck |
| The night was slightly cold - need to also pack a hooded sweatshirt - the tent was also on a hill - so I kept rolling down during the night. So..... the morning came too quickly when the kids woke us up to show them their dragonflies. |

| Next on the agenda after the morning hike and breakfast was to go frog catchin'... Here's Dan catching a Leopard frog and his son, Devin showing it off... |

| The 2 mile path around the lake was great for hiking and biking. Since I forgot my bike I ended up borrowing Dan's and Bobby Joe's. We were never lost around the Hidden Lakes area thanks to all the red ribbon markings.. |

The
weather was great except for one night when it rained continuously. The
end of my bag got soaked so my feet were tucked up and my head was under
the top to stay warm - it was hard sleeping in a ball for the whole night.
Here's one of John's shoes and shorts that got soaked. |
And
for the finale here's the open aire can. |
